WRQ delivers evaluations online

A new FTP Client and Express software management tools for Year 2000 projects are just a couple of the new elements that HP 3000 managers can now download from the WRQ Web site, www.wrq.com. The site now gives prospects and customers the capability of downloading evaluation copies of WRQ products like the Reflection Suite for the Enterprise version 6.71, which includes the new FTP Client. It’s a great alternative to using FTP/iX, which for the moment is between bug fixes until MPE/iX 6.0 ships in late summer. The WRQ FTP Client has an FTP server recognition wizard that automatically configures for FTP servers running on Unix, HP, IBM, Digital VAX, NT or Novell systems, and it integrates with Windows 98, 95 and NT 4.0 desktop. WRQ is also promising an interface for the FTP Client that ‘simplify life for the beginner graduating from a Web browser.”

Managers who are looking at making the PC desktops in a 3000 environment ready for Year 2000 will be able to use WRQ’s Express 2000 suite to help. The tool identifies all applications in use on all desktops as well as PCs with problem BIOSes which won’t recognize dates after 12-31-99. Even some newer PCs can have recycled BIOSes that don’t comply. WRQ is also running a mailing list for Year 2000 issues; you can sign up for it at the company’s Web site.
