Amisys announced another Advance convertAmisys Synertech reported that AvMed Health Plans, Florida’s only statewide not-for-profit health benefits company, has decided to migrate from its Amisys 3000 application to the new Amisys Advance payer software application hosted on HP-UX servers. AvMed offers self-funded and fully insured commercial products statewide and serves nearly 200,000 members. The company anticipates that the migration to Advance will take one year to complete. “We examined a variety of alternative paths for continuous improvement and concluded that the enhancements and operational efficiencies available in Amisys Advance offered the most for our members, providers, groups and internal staff,” said John Higbee, AvMed’s vice president and CIO. Amisys Synertech forecasts that its Release 2 of Advance — a version that company officials have said will be ready sometime this year — will include a Web-native GUI front-end written in Java.
