Bradmark adds SQL tuning for Oracle systems

The Open Systems arm of Bradmark (800.294.1251) announced the release of DBGeneral’s Tuning Module for Oracle, a database administrators’ and developers’ tool for optimizing performance of Oracle databases. Bradmark said the DBGeneral Tuning Module solves one of the most common problems facing Oracle users – poor performance due to improperly constructed SQL statements. The product’s PL/SQL Locator isolates tuning prospects embedded in PL/SQL objects such as packages, procedures, functions, and triggers. Embedded SQL statements can be dynamically tuned and automatically replaced into the PL/SQL object definition.

The Open Systems product takes advantage of a built-in scheduling feature, so unattended collections can be performed. DBGeneral Tuning Module supports Oracle 7 through 8i, although only Oracle 7 is supported on HP 3000s.
