OmniSolutions releases new GUI/3000 version with
monitoring tools
OnmiSolutions is shipping the
Millennium Edition (Version 4) of GUI3000/iX, software which monitors
HP 3000 systems, devices, consoles and clients in its newest release.
The software communicates with HP 3000s and runs on PC clients.
The new System
Monitor can be docked on the screen, float, or be hidden. The
softwares Server Window now tracks Clients, to see who is
connected to a server process; Console Logs, to examine and print
logs from all connected systems, and filter console events; and
Devices, to put devices up and down, issue spooling commands, or put
a DAT drive online. A double-click on a volume set now displays the
groups and directories.
GUI3000/iX now has
a System Monitor to watch events across all connected servers, which
allows administrators and managers to pre-empt problems. The
softwares new options in File Explorer include the ability to
select a group of files and store them to tape in the background or
e-mail files as text or attachments. A built-in link to Whisper
Technologys Programmers Studio allows editing.
The Database
Explorer creates a Microsoft Access look-alike of any TurboIMAGE
database and populates it with data in one step. IMAGE and Omnidex
indexes are preserved. The Explorer now supports linking of datasets
for retrieval. Administrators can see data in a dataset by
right-clicking on the set and selecting Show Data.
The GUI3000/iX
Spool File Explorer now supports formatted display and printing of
spool files, exports to HTML, text and PDF Files, and e-mails spool
files as text or attachments. The softwares Job and Session
explorer now supports multiple job queues on MPE/iX 6.0 and above.
The utility also supports HFS directories and Unix systems, and is
shipped with a simple Telnet terminal emulator.
