Agilent chooses Quest’s Vista Plus for e3000s

Quest Software (800.930.7731), announced that HP spinoff Agilent Technologies has selected Quest’s NetBase Vista Plus to enhance the performance and reliability of Agilent’s HP e3000 systems. Quest officials said that Agilent selected the NetBase family because it is the only solution on the market that provides a comprehensive set of tools to enable database replication, clustering, tuning of applications, copying and compressing files, load balancing and file management, and report management.

Agilent needed a high-performance, low-overhead solution to support its mission-critical applications running on HP e3000 servers. The NetBase family of products allowed Agilent Technologies to maximize its hardware and software resources without having to change the configuration of its applications.

For Agilent, the challenge of global data distribution for approximately 46,000 employees was met by implementing Vista Plus for MPE. The process of updating and distributing copies of database information has been automated, and users are able to access a variety of data types from any location. And because all the data is housed in a centralized repository, the consumption of server disk space is significantly reduced.
