HP
reorganizes European 3000 operations
New management model spreads 3000 mindshare
HP e3000 Marketing Manager Christine Martino has
reorganized the European marketing operations for the platform,
aligning the team to match US organization and eliminating the
Regional Business Manager post.
Alexandra Wiedenmann, the last European Business
Manager for the e3000, has extended her duties to other HP servers in
addition to the 3000, and left the team from the Commercial Systems
Division (CSY). Martino said the managers skills will still be
in evidence in 3000 efforts, but other HP businesses will now benefit
as well.
Shes focusing on the channel for all of
our server products for all of Europe, Martino said. She
still has the 3000 part of that as well. Theres been some
reorganization in Europe, and its a good opportunity for her.
Shes fantastic, and now everybody gets to share in her
knowledge.
Instead of another Regional Business Manager to lead
the CSY Europe team, were going with a more functional
structure, where our product manager will sit in the product
management team there. Susanne Schirling has been the e3000
product marketing manager for Europe.
Regional Marketing Managers will continue to report
to the heads of HPs European country businesses, an arrangement
thats best for a sales-type of role. Martino said
the organization has been in place in the past in Europe, and
we can make either one successful. The benefit of a functional
structure is you have an opportunity to leverage what some of the
other server lines are doing in product marketing, their programs and
press events. Weve worked to do that in Europe anyway, but this
will make it even easier, being set up functionally, instead of a
separate group.
It also helps the 3000 get more mindshare,
because you have 3000 people sprinkled across a number of teams,
instead of focused in one team, she added.
The change is the second in the past year for the
3000s European team. Ivicia Juresa, former Regional Business
Manager, moved off to HPs wireless business operations last
spring, and CSY promoted Wiedenmann to take his post.
Once again, the 3000 proves to be a good
training ground for people to move on and use their experience in
other businesses as well, Martino said.
