ORBiT offers a new spin for Fantasia sites

At one point thousands of HP 3000 sites managed form-based operations with Fantasia under MPE/iX. The software is still handled by Open Seas Ltd. ORBiT Software is offering a competitive upgrade for these users who have a cross-platform future, according to ORBiT’s Paul Meszauros. “Current users of Fantasia have not had an easy migration path if they planned to move to Unix or Windows,” Meszauros said. “That’s changed, with Spinner, offered by ORBiT. Spinner is supported on the HP 3000, as well as HP-UX, AIX, SCO, Linux, and Windows, so Fantasia users planning to eventually migrate can run Spinner on the HP 3000 until ready to make their move.” Meszauros said that once developed on the HP 3000, Spinner forms and scripts can be transferred to the customer’s destination platform at migration implementation time.
