HP terminated
reseller status for OESC, so that company is liquidating assets A reseller with roots
dating back to the world of used hardware brokers had its reseller contract
terminated by HP in March, and the company is liquidating its assets and
reforming as Transformix Corp. Charles Finley, the founder of Open Ended
Systems Corp., said HP cancelled his reseller status and wouldnt
inform him of why they did which Finley claims is standard practice
when HP steps away from a company that supplies HP 3000 systems to end-user
customers. Finley is also filing personal bankruptcy as a result of the
actions, because of his own personal guarantees to OESC and Con Am. The
latter was a significant source of used HP 3000s for more than a decade.
Finley said his new company is helping companies convert applications to
non-3000 platforms, including a porting project for Summit's credit union
application to the NT platform. |
