HPs Rosie
Chiovari, who we interviewed in early 1997 as an Internet expert in the
Business Critical Computing unit, recently reported at the Bay Area
Regional User Group meeting that HP will be funding the port of RSA
encryption libraries to the HP 3000. The libraries are an essential part of
delivering SSL capabilities for Web servers on the 3000, as well as
offering things like Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) services to secure e-mail
messages. HP will make the RSA libraries a part of MPE/iX, according to our
reports, filling in another missing link that makes the 3000 a solid
network citizen.
