Amisys users
plan a meeting amid rumors of an ownership change
The forthcoming HP World conference features a 3000-only management roundtable, reports on upcoming e3000 model and MPE releases and more, but its not the only 3000-centric meeting on the US East coast in September. Amisys users will gather in Baltimore on September 18 for a two-day meeting, and rumors are afoot that the healthcare application may have a new owner by the time the customers meet. The group of McKessonHBOC that manages the Amisys customers has seen its sales and profitability drop in quarter after quarter, results that some say will lead the parent corporation to find a new owner for the 3000-based business. Some of the slow
growth has been attributed to the healthcare industry consolidations,
and some to a lack of development of the Amisys 3000 application
while HBOC and McKesson labored to create a non-3000 version of
software. Several suitors are being mentioned to take over a customer
base that has some of the largest HP 3000 installations in the world.
In the meantime, customers can plan to attend the meeting at the
Baltimore Hilton and Towers (hotel reservation deadline is August 23,
call 888.466.4644) and the deadline for the conferences $150
registration is September 1. For the moment, customers can contact
McKessonHBOC to register for the conference, and theyll be
billed by the parent company. Copyright The 3000 NewsWire. All rights reserved |
