HP took its e3000 message to customers Down Under

For the first time in years, a customer-direct event got the 3000 message in front of the installed base and prospects in Australia in early May. SIG SoftVend chairman Birket Foster reported that CSY general manager Winston Prather went on tour in Australia with Ashish Phillips, the CSY manager recently named to spark the e3000 efforts in the Asia-Pacific region. Also presenting to about 80 users at meetings in HP offices in Sydney and Melbourne were Joe Geiser of Biznettech.net, on using Apache to Webify things on a 3000; Foster, describing how DataExpress solves data access challenges, and using ODBCLink/SE; Minisoft’s Mike Sweeney showing how Web Dimension easily puts a GUI on 3000 applications; Speedware’s Theodore Tsekos presenting Autobahn 2; and Brad Tashenberg of Bradmark, showing the MPE Command Center console.
