Interex
named a new executive director
After an extensive
search of more than four months, the HP users group Interex hired
Darryl Armstrong to the position of Executive Director effective
March 5, succeeding Chuck Piercey who retired March 1. Armstrong
reports to Interexs board of directors and is the user
groups CEO, responsible for the overall management of the user
groups staff and activities. The new director comes to Interex
after more than five years as executive VP of marketing and sales and
COO of Computer Training Resources, a Silicon Valley training company
with four branches. Interex said CTR is the largest computer
applications training company in Northern and Central California and
Oregon. Prior to CTR, Armstrong was President of Blair College in
Colorado Springs, Colo., a private, for-profit business and medical
college with more than 600 students and the second oldest college in
Colorado. Armstrong also has over 15 years of marketing, sales, and
advertising experience. He graduated in 1971 from the University of
South Florida with a degree in Marketing and English as a pre-law
