Cybertel Communications and Telenomics tied up their merger agreement on December 30, and the provider of the first third party apps-on-tap solution for the HP 3000 went into the new year as a wholly owned subsidiary of the voice-over-IP telephony provider Cybertel. Rick Hupe remains at the head of the Telenomics operation, which has pushed back its offering of its PWARE/3000 application as an e-service until February. A planned November launch collided with many prospects who couldn’t install until after Jan. 1 because of Y2K freezes.

Hupe said that Cybertel will be bundling its telephony services with PWARE, and some other combined offerings from the two companies. Telenomics is releasing Web-based and IP-based versions of its reporting tools, as well as a Java-enabled version for 3000 sites running MPE 6.0.
