Some of HP World’s content is going to be confidential

Interex released details on the sessions at HP World which will be presented under NonDisclosure Agreements (NDAs), but the process does not yet appear to have any impact on the traditional HP 3000 sessions such as roundtables for the platform. But it’s difficult to tell which sessions are going to require what HP now calls an Event Confidential Disclosure Agreement (ECDA) — because HP and Interex won’t even name the sessions until they’ve got an ECDA in hand from an HP World attendee. The sessions are a way for the Compaq customers to maintain their tradition of getting vendor briefings on product futures at shows, since the NDA meetings were a very popular part of the Compaq ETS conferences. There’s also going to be an area where prototypes of new products will be displayed, but attendees shouldn’t expect any HP 3000 models to appear in an area that HP says is going to be tightly controlled. Interex board member Denys Beauchemein said on the 3000-L mailing that he’s attended such a session at last year’s ETS, and “In one session, HP (Compaq) mapped out the path for laptops for the next 12-24 months and you could ask questions of the engineers present.”
