Jazz has a long lifespan CSY set up HPs Jazz Web server to serve the software needs of the 3000 community, and signs point to a long life for the site (jazz.external.hp.com). The caretaker for HPs freeware site said its too soon to speculate on what might happen to all those free bits once HP exits the 3000 community. Speaking for himself, Mark Bixby said In terms of Jazz, five years is a long time in the future, and there are many other more important MPE things to worry about between now and then. Who knows if OpenMPE should come to pass, I imagine there would eventually be a jazz.openmpe.org or jazz.openmpe.com. Or maybe there will be a jazz.bixby.org. Copyright The 3000 NewsWire.
