A new data access layer and a synchronization tool between IMAGE and Oracle and SQL Server will join the lineup of products from MB Foster. MBF-UDAConnector offers server-to-server connections, a standalone product that allows applications running on one server to access data on another server. UDAConnector enables apps on MPE, HP-UX and Linux servers to access any ODBC data source on other servers that can be accessed from a Windows platform. Another standalone product, MBF-UDASynch, synchronizes TurboIMAGE databases with Oracle or SQL Server by monitoring the IMAGE intrinsic calls and then posting the transactions to the remote SQL database using an ODBC driver. UDASynch is used on tables that have unique records, where the target database will not be an exact match of source and fields need to be renamed. The synchronization is virtually real-time.
