Those old line printers are worth hundreds in a trade in

Even while it polishes up its model for selling used HP 3000s, former new HP 3000 distributor Client Systems and Phoenix 3000 have something to sell to the 3000 customer this summer. Until the end of June, the Printronix printers built for HP 3000 printing compatibility are being sold with a trade-in discount for sites that now use aging HP line printers. Customers who can trade in what Printronix calls “HP legacy printers” earn a rebate of $200 to $500 on purchases of 500-line-per-minute, 1,000 lpm or 1,500 lpm Printronix models. If you trade in HP Linejet or LP Series printers — much more recent than the venerable HP26xx series of printers — the cash rebate goes up to $500 to $800. Printronix pays for freight costs on the deal that expires June 25; customers have to purchase a new P5LJ printer to qualify by that date in the US and Canada.

Products from Printronix competitors Tally and Genicom also qualify for the lower rate on the cash rebate. In addition to the rebates, Client Systems has marked down the Printronix products 38 percent until June 30, which means that 1,000 lpm model, the 1000Q, is selling for $6,196. For more information contact Danny Cosey at Client Systems, 303.614.8240. It sounds like Client Systems is dealing, too. “If you have a substantial opportunity,” Cosey said, please contact me immediately to see if we can work on the price.”
