STR upgrades its fax application for HP
3000s
STR Software
has released the 4.8 version of AventX MPE, its flagship information
delivery product for the MPE/iX operating system. AventX MPE faxes
and e-mails critical business documents such as purchase orders,
invoices and acknowledgements from inside an MPE/iX environment.
The latest version enables customers with FAXCOM
NT/2000-based fax servers to send e-mail with PDF and TXT attachments
via AventX Mail, a product option which lets users deliver documents
via e-mail. The AventX Manager, which is packaged with AventX MPE,
now supports printing to Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Also available
with the current release are enhancements to reporting and statistics
information, profile faxing, improved support of FAXCOM fax servers,
and better control of document delivery through batch processing.
Existing customers can download a copy
of the upgraded software for free. They can also request a
complimentary CD-ROM or purchase a 4mm DDS tape for $250 by
contacting technical support at support@strsoftware.com or
804.897.1600.
STR also reports it has placed AventX MPE in several new
sites in the months since HP announced it will end its support of the
server. New customers include Red Valve, a manufacturer whose
products handle slurries, sewage, storm water, abrasives and
corrosives; Luscar Limited, Canadas largest coal company and
one of the largest coal producers in North America; Miles Kimball, a
catalog company for consumer goods and household products; Sligh
Furniture, which manufactures and markets home office furniture,
business office furniture and clocks; and Health Plan of San Mateo, a
Medi-Cal county-wide health system.
