Application development tool supplier Speedware earned
mention in several places in presentations at the 3000 Solutions
Symposium, but the biggest notice might have come during moderator
Bill Lancasters comments. Lancaster pointed out Speedware had
made a radical price reduction on their full Web development
product, Autobahn.
Speedwares marketing director Chris Koppe took the
floor to announce that the unlimited developers, unlimited user
runtime license price for the Web development tool had been cut to
$9,995. There will be no upgrade charges ever, regardless of
the size of the [e3000] you want to put it on. Koppe said.
Speedware is also looking at revisions for its Classic Speedware and
Visual Speedware products.
Lancaster said that the price shift was a very
welcome change. Autobahn is a standalone product that
doesnt require other Speedware products.
e3000 division General Manager Winston Prather said
in the application development space, Speedwares made a
huge recommitment to the HP 3000 platform. Their software will allow
you to Webify applications incredibly fast. A number of our customers
have used Speedware to take an existing application and bring it to
the Web with very little effort.
