Software creates
PDF files from HP 3000 text
A new solution relies on the Perl programming language on HP
3000s to generate PDF files, with a limited functionality version
available for $55. The txt2pdf software is a native converter,
according to developer Sanface Software (www.sanface.com). The program has
been tested on MPE/iX 6.0 by Mark Bixby, an HP software engineer who
helped to port Perl to MPE/iX. Users can specify environment
variables with the txt2pdf software, as well as create two-column PDF
files, add page numbers, and create Web links within documents. The
software can be purchased online at www.sanface.com/txt2pdf.html.
