Transoft releases Screen Component
Adapter for migration
Transoft
(770.933.1965) has released the Transoft Screen Component Adapter for
HP 3000 MPE applications, a product which makes the business rules
and data in these applications available as either J2EE or Microsoft
..NET services.
The Screen Component Adapter provides users with an
alternative to a pure migration, according to company
officials. In response to HPs end of support of the platform,
Some customers see this as an opportunity to rewrite their
applications using modern development architectures such as J2EE and
Microsoft .NET. The Transoft tool offers a seamless,
scalable and non-intrusive interface layer between the existing MPE
applications and new application modules.
Transofts CEO Paul Holland said the tool could be used
to make gradual shifts away from the HP 3000. Companies
frequently forget they cannot deploy a new application until they
have developed it to a point where it performs all the functions the
existing application does, Holland said. Our proven
adapter technology has been used by many companies to provide a
bridging layer between the new and the old business rules. As a
result, organizations can implement new functionality modules as soon
as they are available, while still keeping online the areas of
functionality which havent yet been re-written.
The new software is part of Transofts family of
Intelligent Adapter products. The Adapters can be used in conjunction
with Transofts eToolbox, a Java framework for rapid development
of new Web
