Windows closed for most Ecometry platform jumps this year

HP points to Ecometry as one of its key partners who will move their customers off the HP 3000s in the years to come. But most of the Ecometry customer base will stay in place through the rest of 2004, as e-commerce, retail and catalog sales companies lock down through their busiest season. One customer gave Ecometry the chance to carry them onto the Windows version of the software before the lockdown, but then found they had some heavy lifting of their own to do. Journey Education, which notifies its potential customers about software purchase authorization requirements through e-mail, saw much of that capability failing in the Windows version of the application.

John Wainwright, director of IS at the software reseller, posted a list of Journey’s migration issues at www.journeyed.com/migration. Wainwright said in a posting to the Ecometry mailing list that “It is my wish that the product be quickly brought to a level of stability equivalent to what was promised, before we are forced sacrifice further investments and training merely to survive.” Wainwright complained of being expected “to test to make sure the standard features and functionalities operate correctly.”
